Old King's Head

A vague ghost has been seen in various parts of this pub. Bedrooms 4 and 6 are said to be haunted, the former by a child. There are also reports of a baby crying and poltergeist-like activity. A visitor stayed in room 6 and informed TripAdvisor that they experienced "Running, knocking, banging in the corridor and the tap even turned on by itself"; one reviewer even said that the ghost tucked his partner's sheets in while she slept, making her too hot! Recently, the owner of the hotel has captured a female voice on tape in an area that used to be a brothel in the 17th century. The landlord has also said, "Three or four times a week someone would knock on the door, you’d hear people [ie children] running up and down the corridors; sometimes, you’d be getting a shower, and you could hear noises from room six, like there was a brawl or a fight going on." He claims that there are 13 ghosts in the building.
