Rhuddlan Castle

There is a legend that Princess Erilda is pursued every night through the ruins by the Warrior Knight of the Blood Red Plume; during life, is it said, he rescued her when she became lost in the forest and they became romantically involved. The Knight convinced Erilda to elope with him on the eve of her wedding to another man, a marriage that was supposed to unite the divided North and South Wales. During the pursuit of the two lovers, the Knight gave her a dagger and when she felt a hand on her shoulder, she spun around and lashed out, stabbing her father. As she screamed in horror, the Knight revealed that he was a demon sent to prevent the union of the Welsh factions. He then transformed himself into a scaly monster and dragged Erilda under the River Clwyd and into the hell.
