To make them feel better if he has a name, staff have nicknamed the ghost here 'Paul' - but he does not scare them. In a number of incidents going back years, he has been making glasses fall from racks and drinks to be thrown over the bar, banging on walls, the sound of running upstairs and in the cellar, and throwing beer mats around. On one occasion, staff noted that Paul had gone quiet - but the next morning, a picture frame went flying. Paul has also been known to continually turn on the hand dryers in the men's toilets even after the fuses had been removed. Sceptics blame overstacked glass racks and vibrations causing items to fall.
