Hellaby Hall Hotel

Old Hellaby Lane, Hellaby, Bramley, Rotherham, South Yorkshire S66 8SN
01709 702701

The neatly arranged items in the conference hall were left in disarray after a few minutes absence by the staff; a coach and horses drives up to the hall and deposits a man in Victorian clothing before driving off - the man then enters the lobby and disappears! An old woman stands by one of the beds in room 5 and awakens guests, and in room 36 is an old lady who tries to strangle homosexuals (some say that this happens in room 26)! It is claimed that of over 90 rooms, 10 have some form of phenomena. A ghostly figure is also said to be seen at the attic window too. Apparently when the building first opened as a hotel in 1995 after a refurbishment following a fire, staff were "forever getting complaints from guests that they could hear people running up and down the corridors during the night." But when staff did their rounds of the building they never found anyone indulging in such mischief.

Update 8/7/22: The Hall responded to my Facebook query for any recent phenomena: "We haven’t had any incidents at the hotel."
