John Lancaster was employed to maintain the track on this now abandoned trainline but was killed by a train in heavy fog as he walked along the line. His ghost has been seen walking the site here, near the level crossing. Cars have experienced electrical problems at this point and one couple had the experience of a spectral train passing right through them!
