Ghost entry for this location:

The Scotch Piper

Southport Road, Lydiate, Merseyside L31 4HD
0151 345 6399

This inn is named after a piper who became separated from his platoon and was nursed to health by the innkeeper's daughter after he was injured. The two eventually married and renamed the pub after him. There are a few ghost stories associated with this pub. The current landlady tries not to talk about the spectres as glasses flew when she talked about the ghosts to a friend. The owner also said, "There’s also a little ghost dog that someone said they once saw the footprints of, when cleaning the floor. Then they say there are quite a few men ghosts who sit in rooms and just chill."
