Two phantom bloodhounds, who appear from the hearth and then disappear through a closed window have been sighted. Another ghost is that of an old housekeeper, seen at night with a lit candle. Builders who had been renovating the hall were saved from possible death when they heard a voice call out to inform them of a tea break. But there was no tea break, and no one had called - but the wall they had been working on seconds before collapsed.
Update 23/6/24: I emailed the establishment to inquire of any recent happenenings, and Sarah replied, "There are a good few stories and we do get a good number of guests experiencing different things - light going on and off, smell of pipe smoke and even figures at the end of the bed." She directed me to her website, which mentions "the hounds of the Macdougall," the elderly housekeeper who checks on the laundry in the east wing to check that all is prepared for the morrow, and the workers summoned to a phantom tea break who had a narrow brush with death.
