Eden Court Theatre

The building used to be a bishop's palace, and the wife of one of the bishops who allegedly hanged herself there has been seen as a "Green Lady"; additionally, the sound of footsteps have also been reported.

A feature on the BBC website in June 2024 talked of quite a few staff seeing the Green Lady at the top of the stairway; "If you are coming into the Bishop's Palace and look into a mirror there you will see her standing at the top of the stairs or walking up them." The remainder of the entertainment complex has had a few tales, including a duty manager hearing a woman crying as she was locking up in the front foyer next to the box office; a bar manager hearing footsteps prompting him to call to the patrons to hurry up as he too was locking up for the night; voices heard emerging from the cinema at night (in these three instances there was no-one to be found to explain the sounds); whispered, muffled conversations and a haunting laugh; the ghost of a young child; and a couple in the auditorium. Most of the phenomena were described as "little things."
